Western NC update. More rains threatened existing homes in mudslides. Sam purse, Baptist Mission , Bilmore church and others are organizing teams to help homeowners. It is boots on the ground survival for so many. Those with existing homes are inviting others to shelter with them and sharing what little they have. Deaths severely under-reported. One family lost 11 people. Those of us who are counselors need to mobilize to help with the emotional, psychological, spiritual aftermath and healing. Pray for me as I coordinate with local churches to create a faith based curriculum to assist in facilitating healing. People are coming to Christ. Churches are doing the unimaginable to help, and people are coming to Christ in church parking lots where they receive help. They are going to need help and support for a long time. Church leaders and first responders are experiencing compassion fatigue and signs of trauma. Pray for the Lord to divinely intervene for each person impacted, and each person in all the communities to know how much Jesus loves them and the Holy Spirit to call them to saving grace of Christ.
